At Legacy Paws Rescue, our goal is to create the right lifelong match between our dogs and adopters. Step 1: Find Your Mutt Match (Quiz) We encourage all potential adopters to start with our âFind Your Mutt Matchâ quiz. This helps identify the best personality and energy level for your lifestyle before applying. Step 2: Adoption Application Submit a detailed adoption application including your home environment, daily schedule, and experience with dogs. This allows us to match you with a dog that fits your lifestyle. Step 3: Review & Conversation We review applications and contact applicants to discuss their expectations, lifestyle, and quiz results. This helps ensure the best match. Step 4: Meet & Greet Approved applicants meet the dog in a structured setting to observe interactions and confirm compatibility. Step 5: Home & Lifestyle Requirements We consider factors such as energy level, home environment, schedule, and prior dog experience. Some dogs may require fenced yards, experienced adopters, or specific living arrangements. Step 6: Trial / Transition (if applicable) Some dogs may have a trial or âsleepoverâ period to ensure the match is right before finalizing the adoption. Step 7: Adoption Finalization Fee: $300 (varies by dog, includes spay/neuter, vaccinations, microchip, and vet care) Contracts: Adopters sign a contract committing to lifelong care, including veterinary care, proper housing, and meeting the dogâs needs. Requirements: Must be at least 21 years old, have a suitable living environment, and agree to follow adoption guidelines.
