We have an application that potential adopters need to fill out, then we contact them to have a general conversation about why they want a pet/their lifestyle, answer any questions they may have about the pet and schedule a meet and greet. If the meet and greet goes well, then we do a 2 week foster to adopt trial where the adopter has 2 weeks to make sure its a right fit for the animal and the adopter. This also gives our fosters respite and if an animal is returned we have the space for them right away. After the two weeks is up we sign adoption paperwork and the adopter pays the adoption fee. We try to keep our adoption fees for dogs under $100 but average at $45 and $35 for cats.
