Description

My name is Werthers and I came to the shelter underweight, with ticke borne disease, and a mass on my leg. But don't worry - the shelter has fixed me up and I am on the road to recovery! Like many dogs in NC, I am currently heartworm positive, but don't worry - OCAS will cover the cost of my treatment! Ask the front for more information!Insights from my adventure buddies and foster friends:`Werthers was really sweet and energetic. He loved going on a hike with us. He was very excited to smell everything and check out squirrels. On the way to the park he was very nervous getting in and riding in the car, once we got to the trail he was very excited! Every time we walked by water he was very interested, I have a feeling he was very interested in going swimming. He was also very sweet asking us for head scratches.``He was such a joy to have out! He loves to go on walks and sniff everything! He’s a little scared of random noises or beeping, gets a little timid when a biker passes. He likes to stare out the window and gets excited when his leash gets put on. He’s does great in cars, he mainly lays down most of the time. He seemed a little nervous to be inside, he would always stay by my side and want to be petted.``Werther is such a fun, adventurous dog! He loved exploring the Eno River trails and had a blast swimming and playing in the water. He was such a good boy for his bath afterwards and got to pick out some treats! Werther is an energetic, friendly, and confident dog who needs an active family to thrive in. He is so confident and sweet. He wasn’t scared of anything on the trails and was looking for new spots to jump into the river. He also has the sweetest face and loves a good snuggle.He was so friendly and cuddly on our Dog Day Out. He followed me around like he didn’t want to be separated for even a second! I had a blast with him. First, we went on a walking trail for about an hour then we got a pup cup from Starbucks! After that, I brought him back to my home to get a good, quiet nap! I love that he is super friendly and followed me around. He has the cutest ears and a loving personality.`
