** This dog is in a foster home in San Antonio, TX. Prospective adopters must be able to travel to San Antonio to complete the adoption process.  Please apply online at http://texasgreatdane.org/adoption-application/ ** Meet Lady — a beautiful 2-year-old Great Dane with a heart as big as she is! At 130 pounds, this gentle giant is truly an all-around wonderful dog. Lady came to us when her owner had to move in with family, and unfortunately the young children in the home were very intimidated by her size. Lady is housebroken, kennel trained, and has excellent manners in the home. She enjoys leisurely walks, relaxing with her people, and simply being part of the family. She’s a sweet, loving girl who thrives in a calm environment where she can feel comfortable and secure. She has also perfected the classic Great Dane “lean” and loves to gently press up against her people for affection and comfort. Because small children can make her a bit nervous, we are looking for a home with kids ages 12 and older. Lady would do best with a family who appreciates the gentle nature of giant breeds and is ready to give her the love and stability she deserves. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who’s equal parts couch buddy and walking partner, Lady may be the perfect fit for your family! Please understand you are committing to providing a good home for her entire life (up to 15+ years or more.) You must be committed to housebreaking, age-appropriate enrichment and exercise, leash training, grooming needs, and positive socialization. Her adoption fee is $300. This includes her spay surgery, rabies vaccination, Nobivac® Canine 1-DAPP vaccination, Nobivac® Intra-Trac 3 vaccination, Drontal® Plus, IDEXX SNAP® 4Dx Plus Test, Tri-Heart® Plus chewable tablet, 24PetWatch® microchip, and leash and collar. Please be aware that puppies and small breed dogs do get adopted quickly so interested parties are encouraged to apply online at www.saspca.org.
