Description
Hey there! My name is Smudge, and I've been busy settling into my foster home and learning all the house rules. Apparently, I'm doing an amazing job... but honestly, I think I'm just naturally awesome. I've really been enjoying foster life so far! My favorite things include chasing my doggie friends around the yard, hunting down tennis balls, stretching out in the sunshine on the deck, and curling up on the couch for a good snuggle session. Balance is important, after all!One thing you'll notice about me right away is my award-worthy smile. My adorable underbite gives me the most unique toothy grin, and I've been told it's pretty hard to resist. I like to think it's one of my best features!I'm a social guy who loves making new dog friends, although my greeting style can best be described as "enthusiastically in your face." Once introductions are out of the way, I'm all about playing, running, and having fun. I'd really love a home with a doggie sibling to show me the ropes and keep me company when my humans are away. I'm a very submissive boy and feel much more comfortable with a canine buddy around.I'm eager to please and already know sit, lay down, and stay. I'm even working hard on perfecting my "down" command. Smart and handsome? That's a pretty great combination if you ask me. If you're looking for a happy, active, affectionate pup with a contagious smile, a heart full of love, and a serious talent for sunbathing, I might just be your perfect match.Want to know more? Give my people a call—they'll be happy to tell you just how amazing I am! ❤️Located in Belleville Ideal Home: A home with a fenced yard would be ideal since I'm active and athletic (I can clear an extra-tall baby gate when I really want to!). Apartment or condo living may not be the best fit, as I can be quite vocal when confined to a room. Family Match: Best with older kids unless dog savvy due to my playful, bouncy nature. Not ideal for seniors as I can get excited and jump around. Other Pets: A dog sibling is preferred! I love making friends and enjoy having a canine companion. I play well with other dogs and have shown no prey drive.⚡ Energy Level: Active family preferred. I love fetch, chasing dog friends, sticks, logs, and outdoor adventures.️ Favorite Things: Playing, sunbathing, couch snuggles, tennis balls, and spending time with my people and dog buddies. Training: Knows sit, stay, and down, and is eager to please. Currently working on crate training and continuing to learn household routines. He's had only one accident in foster care, likely related to stress from the transition. Leash Skills: Friendly with everyone and wants to say hello, so he can pull on leash. Home Alone: Still settling into foster care, so we're learning what he's like when left loose in the house. He does enjoy a bit of counter surfing if given the opportunity!❤️ Personality: A happy, affectionate, goofy guy who doesn't quite realize how big he is. Loyal, loving, and ready to be someone's best friend!
