Description
Meet Pierogi: Part-Kangaroo, Part-Survivor, Full-Time GoofballLook, Pierogi has seen some things. This 35-pound, perfectly medium-sized wonder started his life roughing it in the woods, battled (and beat!) parvo, and endured enough poking and prodding to last a lifetime. So yes, he might be a little shy when you first meet him. But give him a minute to realize he’s safe, and this pup transforms from a timid wallflower into a goofy, stick-collecting, kangaroo-hopping professional cuddler. The Stats on This Perfect-Sized SidekickClocking in at a solid 35 pounds, Pierogi is the ultimate fun-sized companion. He comes complete with a set of wonderfully unique, chaotic ears that have a mind of their own. He’s fully potty trained, crate trained, and has recently decided that leash walks are actually fantastic. Activity-wise, he’s a solid "moderate." His favorite hobbies include turning the yard into his personal treasure hoard by collecting every single stick and ball he can find, and showing off his impressive pouncing skills. The Ideal Home: Pierogi is looking for a very specific vibe for his forever home. First and foremost, he needs a confident doggy sibling. He currently spends his days wrestling and playing games of canine Twister with his 60-pound fluffy foster sister, and he relies on doggy friends to build his confidence. He is submissive, takes cues like a champ, and absolutely thrives on canine companionship.Cats? No problem at all. He completely respects his feline foster sibling and fully understands who the real boss of the house is.Kids? Because of his rough start, sudden, unpredictable movements spook him. He’d do best in a quiet, low-traffic home with older, chill kids who understand that he needs a minute to process the big wide world. If you have a little patience, a playful resident dog, and a lap ready for premium snuggles, you just found your boy. Thank you! Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $575 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year old, $525 for 1 - 6 years old, $475 for dogs 7 - 10 years old, and $350 for 11+ years of age. Purebred dogs regardless of age are $625. These minimum donations help to defer the costs of initial vet care, food, transportation to Colorado, and supplies while in foster care (that currently average over $750 per dog).Meeting Dogs | Foster dogs may have meet and greets by appointment to approved applicants only. To become an approved applicant - please complete the application process. We will not respond to emails about animal availability or allow meet and greets without an approved adoption application on file. Please Note | Available dogs are updated as soon as possible and we do our best to keep it up-to-date, but occasionally dogs shown may become unavailable without notice due to a pending adoption. We can not guarantee that a dog you wish to adopt is available by the time your adoption application is submitted, processed, and approved. Your application is good for one year from the date of applying for any dog as long as it is a good fit for your family and your lifestyle. We encourage you to put in an application even if you don't see your new family member currently, as once you are approved, we can place you on the waiting list for first priority on the selection of the dogs we do bring in. That means you can often meet a dog upon transport arrival and adopt before they even make it to this page!
