Found as a stray at a known dumping site, it's clear from his gentle, sociable nature that he once had a loving home — and he's ready to find one again.After being rescued, Chester was taken to the vet where he was neutered and tested. His test came back positive for Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV) — news that led his finder to surrender him. But that's where we stepped in, because Chester's story doesn't end there.Right now, Chester is completely healthy and thriving. FeLV is no longer the automatic death sentence it was once considered. With proper nutrition, a calm environment, and a little extra love, many FeLV-positive cats go on to live long, happy, comfortable lives. The virus can remain dormant for years, and some cats never experience active illness at all. Chester deserves the chance to be one of them.IMPORTANT HOME REQUIREMENT: Chester needs to be the only cat in the home, or live with other FeLV-positive cats, or with cats who are fully up-to-date on their FeLV vaccine.
