Description

Champ is a 2-year-old male Pit Bull mix who must be neutered before adoption.  He was found as a stray; but when his owner was contacted they no longer wanted him.  Champ is gray with white markings; and he is a nice-looking dog.  He weighs 56 pounds so he is a big fellow.  Not only is Champ big--he is VERY strong and active.  He would require an experienced owner who is familiar with the breed; and willing to spend a lot of time with him to curb his energy and help Champ understand acceptable behavior.  Due to his size and energy level, we do not think Champ should be in a home with children.  He is dog specific and if you have another dog--we would require that your dog come to the shelter for a supervised introduction.  He does NOT need to be in a home with cats. Again, Champ needs an experienced and patient owner who is willing to spend a lot of time working with him.
