Ellie is a 40-pound Jack Russell mix with a bright spirit and an even bigger heart. This smaller medium-sized girl is full of curiosity, joy, and an infectious enthusiasm for life. Whether she’s exploring the outdoors or curling up for snuggles, Ellie’s happiest when she’s close to her people. She’s fully potty trained and walks well on a leash, though her excitement can sometimes get the best of her on longer walks. With a few treats in hand, she quickly refocuses—Ellie is highly food motivated and eager to please, making her very trainable. She’s a smart pup who would thrive with a bit more time and consistency in training. Ellie is wonderful with children, especially young ones. She’s incredibly patient, gentle, and affectionate—even with a curious 3-year-old getting right up in her space. Her loving, tolerant nature makes her a fantastic family companion. When it comes to other dogs, Ellie may just need a little time to reacclimate. She was social as a puppy but hasn’t had much recent exposure to dog parks or daycare environments. With proper introductions and guidance, she has the potential to do well. Ellie is an active dog who loves to run and stretch her legs. A home with a large yard, open space, or even a farm-like setting would be ideal for her energetic nature. After a good run, she’s more than ready to settle in for some well-earned cuddle time.
