Meet Piglet – A Little Girl Ready for a Whole Lot of Love! Female | Approximately 4 Years Old | 11 Pounds | Isabella Dachshund | Special Care Meet Piglet, our precious little Isabella dachshund with a big heart and a story that deserves a beautiful new chapter. At approximately 4 years old and just 11 pounds, Piglet is a petite little sweetheart who hasn't had the easiest start in life. Previously used for breeding, she's now getting the chance to experience what every dog deserves: kindness, comfort, patience, and the simple joy of being loved. And we think she's going to absolutely blossom! Piglet has a condition called Color Dilution Alopecia (CDA), a genetic condition associated with her beautiful Isabella coloring that can cause thinning hair, hair loss, and sensitive skin. While her coat may never fully grow back, we're already seeing encouraging improvements in her skin with the use of medicated shampoo and lots of attentive care. Our wonderful foster Madelynne, who is also a veterinary technician, is giving Piglet the care and attention she needs. We're so happy with her progress! But there's much more to Piglet than her medical condition. She's a shy, sensitive little girl who is still learning that the world can be a safe and loving place. She deserves a family who will let her settle in at her own pace, celebrate her little victories, and give her all the time she needs to build trust. Piglet's ideal forever home would offer: A calm, patient, loving environment where she can feel secure. Someone who understands that trust takes time, especially for a dog who has had a difficult past. A commitment to her ongoing skin care and any veterinary treatment she may need. A safe, comfortable home where she can enjoy being a cherished companion. Most importantly, a family who will love her for exactly who she is. We anticipate that Piglet will be ready to join her forever family in approximately one month, depending on her continued progress. In the meantime, we're beginning the process of finding that very special home. Piglet has spent enough of her life being asked to give. Now it's her turn to receive. A warm bed. Gentle hands. A little patience. And a lifetime of love. Could you be the person who gives Piglet her happily ever after?
