Name:   Alfredito          Best Guess for Breed:   Chihuahua mix    Best Guess for Age:   8 years as of 10/29/2026          SEX:   male   Approximate Weight:  4.8 lbs   Gets Along With: other dogs. We haven't seen them with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living at:  the shelter, Alfredito needs a foster and a forever home.   Special adoption considerations:   Dogs from Puerto Rico have a major transition to go through when they arrive and will need humans who are very committed to socialization. We think this pup would do best with either a resident dog or a family who can make sure they can go on walks regularly with other dogs, visit the dog park, or go to doggie daycare to learn the ropes.   Alfredito is Looking For:   Alfredito is an 8-year-old male Chihuahua mix with a big heart and an even bigger personality. This handsome little gentleman from Puerto Rico, known as a sato, is now searching for a loving family to call his own. Alfredito has outgrown the puppy chaos but still enjoys playtime, short walks, and spending quality time with his people. He loves cozy blankets, sunny spots by the window, and being close to those he trusts. Like many Chihuahuas, he forms strong bonds and will be a loyal companion who wants to be by your side through life's everyday moments. Alfredito is a sweet, affectionate dog who enjoys a calm environment where he can feel safe and loved. He would thrive with someone who appreciates the charm of a smaller dog and understands that adult dogs still have plenty of love, energy, and companionship to give. After traveling all the way from Puerto Rico in search of a better future, Rico deserves a forever home where he will never have to wonder where he belongs again. His ideal family would provide patience, comfort, and lots of love in return for endless devotion and gratitude.
