Penny came to us as a very reserved and anxious little girl. Her previous owner surrendered her after their landlord discovered she was living in the apartment, which had a no-pet policy. Unfortunately, Penny had spent her time indoors in stealth mode and had very little experience with the outside world. She was trained to use potty pads, so she'll need some patience and continued work as she learns the ropes of being a regular household dog and mastering her housebreaking. Penny isn't looking for a busy household full of commotion and activity. Her happy place is right next to her person, preferably sitting in your lap or snuggled up beside you on the couch. And if you invite her to share your bed, she'll consider that an added bonus! Her ideal home would be a quiet one with just one or two people who have plenty of time to give her the attention and reassurance she needs. She'll need someone who understands that building confidence takes time and is willing to let her blossom at her own pace. Penny may not be the life of the party, but she could be the love of your life! If you're looking for a devoted little companion who wants nothing more than to be your shadow, your lap warmer, and your bedtime snuggle buddy, Penny would love to meet you. She's ready to trade her days of hiding for a lifetime of cuddles, security, and unconditional love. ❤️ Please understand you are committing to providing a good home for her entire life (up to 15+ years or more.) You must be committed to housebreaking, age-appropriate enrichment and exercise, leash training, grooming needs, and positive socialization. Her adoption fee is $300. This includes her spay surgery, rabies vaccination, Nobivac® Canine 1-DAPP vaccination, Nobivac® Intra-Trac 3 vaccination, Drontal® Plus, IDEXX SNAP® 4Dx Plus Test, Tri-Heart® Plus chewable tablet, 24PetWatch® microchip, and leash and collar. Please be aware that puppies and small breed dogs do get adopted quickly so interested parties are encouraged to apply online at www.saspca.org. Please ensure your application is complete before submitting. We do verify property ownership, landlord references, apartment/HOA restrictions, veterinary references.
