Description

My name is Matilda, and I am a year-old, mix-breed girl looking for a special pack to call my own. My name means ‘mighty in battle’ because I’ve been through some hardships, but I’ve emerged with my optimism and joyful personality intact. I am a loyal, curious, and very playful girl. But I didn’t get the socialization and care I needed during my first year of life, so I need humans who are willing to work with me and help me continue to gain the confidence I need to be the amazing pup I was destined to be. I am crate trained and potty trained, and I am getting really good at walking on a leash. I LOVE to play with other dogs, but I can be a bit overwhelming for some dogs because I am still learning to read social cues. I listen really well, and I take corrections from humans and other dogs without issue. I just want to get along with everyone. I am learning basic commands, and I’m smart and motivated by food, toys and snuggles. I am a high-energy girl, so I’d do best with active humans or another playful pup. I would really benefit from having a confident canine companion because I do take cues from other dogs really well. The other foster pups have helped me overcome a lot of fear, and I’d love to live with other pups. I live with cats, and I mostly ignore them. I have only been around kids 10 and older, so I’m not sure how I’d do with small children. Sometimes I get so afraid, I lay on my back and freeze. But usually if my human just gives me a few pets and reassurance, I will jump up and do what is asked of me. I am an incredibly sweet girl who deserves humans who are committed to continuing my training and taking me on adventures so I can keep learning and growing. I am so full of love and playful energy, I will enrich the lives of everyone lucky enough to meet me!Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Her adoption fee is $200.
