Description
Meet Brisa!Brisa is a 1–2-year-old, 15-pound Shih Tzu mix with adorable merle spots, a whole lot of love to give, and some pretty impressive kisses! This little lady is happiest snuggled up in your lap, playing with her favorite toys, or enjoying a little chew time. She loves a good game of fetch and is even working on bringing the toys back!Brisa has a low-key lifestyle and is content with a little playtime and a short daily walk. She does surprisingly well on a leash, enjoys car rides, and is a wonderful little companion. She's also a dedicated watchdog who takes her window-watching duties very seriously! She'll let you know when someone is outside or a noise catches her attention, but she does settle down.Brisa is still learning some of the basics of being a house dog. She's making progress with potty training and does well when given frequent opportunities to go outside. She sleeps in her crate overnight and can be crated when left home alone, although she'll need a potty break during the night. She can be a little mouthy when showing affection, but responds well to gentle correction. She's also a bit of a door darter, so keeping an eye on her when doors are open is important.Brisa would do best as the only pet in an adult home or a home with a quieter environment. She has some behavioral challenges around other dogs, particularly when crated, so a home without other dogs is strongly preferred. A fenced yard would be ideal, as she takes her time doing her business outside. She's not much of a jumper and can't get onto furniture by herself, but she's always happy to accept a lift!Brisa will need a patient adopter who understands that she's still learning and is willing to provide consistent, gentle guidance. In return, you'll get a devoted little lap dog who gives the best kisses and will happily keep you company. She's come a long way and is ready for someone to help her continue blossoming into the wonderful companion she's meant to be!Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Her adoption fee is $200.
