Description

Meet Ellie, a 5-year-old mini tabby with an adorable resting grumpy face looking for her forever home!Ellie is all about scritches! Head scritches, back scritches, belly scritches, and her favorite of all time: under-the-chin scritches! Her major quirk is that this little girl prefers to stay at floor level for all activities. Unknown whether she spent time in a home where cats weren't allowed on any furniture, or if this little cutie just has a fear of heights. She will leap into the air to chase toys, but that seems to be her sole exception to her "everything-other-than-the-floor is lava" rule. In short, this kitty is not going to be one to steal food from the counter or knock puzzle pieces off the table or munch on windowsill plants. This also means that she'd much prefer you to get on her level for pets and playtime, though she's more than willing to sidle up next to the couch to be in reach for more scritches, she just won't join you up on the couch.Ellie is a pretty low energy cat. She's happy to play for a few minutes, here and there, throughout the day. But for the most part, she can be found curled up asleep on one of her favorite blankets or mats. If she hears you getting up to move about, she'll come check in and request some scritches by silently meowing at you! Ellie is great at entertaining herself with toys, especially little soft mouse toys that she can bat around and chase. She also loves to chase wand toys of all shapes and sizes.Ellie is a mostly mute kitty, you'll see her mouth open to meow, but no sound will follow. She does have a strong and audible purr however! She'll purr whenever she's receiving pets or sometimes even when she's just sitting next to you. Ellie lives with one human in an apartment. Ellie needs to be the only pet in the home (or in a permanent crate&rotate situation, where she'll have a room of her own to retreat to when other pets are in the house). Ellie's ideal home is with someone who will be patient with her upon first arrival, as she has a tough time with transitions, and will more than likely hide for at least the first two or three days. After that, Ellie just needs someone who's willing to move slowly and speak softly and give her plenty of scritches! Ellie has done well with guests, happy to watch them from afar, and has sometimes approached to get pet, though she saves her overflowing affection for the humans she lives with. Based on her initial skittishness, and past history with cats, we assume Ellie would be scared of both young children and dogs. Patience goes a long way with this sweet girl! Before you know it, she’ll transform into a little love bug. If you’re looking for a sweet feline friend, Ellie may be your girl!— — —There is no guarantee of age and breed as a rescue animal's history is unknown.
