Description
Meet Shortie, a sweet, gentle 8-year-old boy who is looking for someone willing to give him a little time to show just how special he is. Shortie once lived a happy life with his beloved owner. Sadly, when she was diagnosed with dementia and moved into a memory care facility, her home was sold to help cover her expenses. Shortie suddenly found himself outside, left to fend for himself, despite having spent his entire life as an indoor cat. As the weather began to turn colder, an animal advocate neighbor realized Shortie needed help getting back inside where he belonged. With her own home already full of animals, she couldn't take him in, but she refused to give up. She tirelessly contacted 43 different organizations looking for someone who could help. Thankfully, Tyson’s Place Rescue was able to make room for Shortie, and he is now safe in a loving foster home. Shortie is a quieter, more reserved fellow who may take a little time to feel comfortable in new surroundings. He'll need a patient adopter who understands that trust can't be rushed and is willing to let him settle in at his own pace. But don't let his initial shyness fool you! Once Shortie feels safe, his affectionate personality comes through. He's a true people cat who wants to be close to his humans and enjoy their companionship. Shortie isn't looking for someone who expects instant affection. He's looking for a kind person who will give him the time and security he needs to blossom. There is something especially rewarding about earning the trust of a shy cat and watching him discover that he is safe and loved. After losing the only home he's ever known, Shortie deserves a fresh start and a person who will give him the chance to feel at home again. Could that be you?
