PEPPER is available!  NOTE: PEPPER HAS NOT YET COMPLETED HER FULL VETERINARY EVALUATION. Pepper is an 8-month-old intact female Aussie/Golden Retriever mix.  She  is a bright, high-energy puppy who is eager to learn and soaking up everything her foster home is teaching her.  Since coming into foster care, Pepper has been working on her basics — house-training, walking nicely on a leash, and "sit" — and she is doing very well at all of it. She genuinely looks forward to her training time, the treats she gets, and is ready to learn so much more.  Pepper has been around other dogs and gets along with them. That said, between her herding genes and her puppy energy, she can be a lot for other dogs, so introductions and playmates should be chosen thoughtfully. She has not been around young children or cats, so those would need to be tested. Because of her herding instincts,  Pepper will NOT be placed with any small children nor frail elderly adults.   Pepper bonds closely and devotedly with her person. She is, however, quite fearful of strangers and new situations. She will need an adopter who can work patiently with her to build her confidence over time. For the right person willing to put in that patient, consistent work, Pepper will blossom into a wonderful, loyal companion. She has not yet been spayed, but AGR will handle having this procedure done when she is of age.
