❤️ MEET BARRY — AN OLD SOUL WITH THE SOFTEST HEART! ❤️ Some dogs run right into your arms. Others quietly wait until they're certain it's safe to give you their hearts. Barry is one of those special little souls. ❤️ Barry is one of four dogs rescued by Green Dog Foundation from the Hesperia Shelter after their owner passed away. In an instant, everything these dogs had ever known was gone. Their person, their home, their familiar routines — all replaced by the frightening sights and sounds of a shelter. Of the four, Barry has been the quietest and the most timid. While the others began adjusting to their new surroundings, Barry needed a little more time. He watched, he listened, and he quietly tried to make sense of his new world. But something wonderful is happening... By his third day with us, we began seeing a different little dog emerge! Barry is becoming more comfortable, more curious, and more willing to let his sweet personality shine through. And what a beautiful little soul he is. Barry is quiet, reserved, and incredibly gentle. He has the most extraordinary, soulful eyes — the kind that seem to look right into your heart. There's something about his expression that makes you feel as though this young dog has experienced far more than he should have. He's an old soul in a young dog's body. ❤️ And can we talk about his coat for a moment? We have cared for thousands of dogs over the years, and Barry has one of the softest coats we've ever felt! Seriously, petting this little guy is like stroking a chinchilla! The shelter estimated Barry to be approximately 2 years old, although we suspect he may be a little younger. He walks on a leash, sleeps quietly in his crate at night, and is gradually discovering that the world isn't such a scary place after all. We have a feeling that once Barry finds someone willing to give him a little patience and some undivided attention, he's going to become the most devoted little lap companion. He doesn't need someone to rush him or expect him to be outgoing on the first day. He needs someone who understands that trust is something precious, especially when you've lost the person you trusted most. And oh, what a gift it will be to watch this little boy realize that he's finally home. Barry isn't going to demand your attention.
