Description

Short legs, floppy ears, and enough love to brighten every day! Meet Tabi! This adorable 6-year-old Basset Hound/Staffordshire Terrier mix came to us from the Caroline County Humane Society after being surrendered when her family moved. Tabi may be short in stature, but she's overflowing with personality, love, and joy.If you're looking for a dog who thinks people are the greatest thing in the world, Tabi is your girl. She absolutely adores attention and wants nothing more than to be close to her favorite humans. Whether she's proudly carrying around a tennis ball, making you laugh with her bouncing ears on walks, or rolling happily in the grass, Tabi knows how to bring a smile to your face.Tabi previously lived with two other dogs and gets along well with canine friends. She wouldn't mind sharing her home with another dog, but she would also be perfectly happy soaking up all the attention as the center of your world. During her cat test, she calmly sniffed the cats and then walked away, and she also lived with cats in the past. She has experience living with older children and did very well. Tabi could also do well with younger kids, but her family should know that she's still working on keeping all four paws on the floor when she's excited to greet people.Tabi has been diagnosed with Ehrlichiosis, a common tick-borne disease. Dogs with Ehrlichiosis can live long, happy, and normal lives. Some dogs may never experience any issues, while others can occasionally have flare-ups that typically require a 30-day course of antibiotics. Our staff would be happy to discuss her condition and answer any questions. If you're searching for a fun-loving, people-oriented companion who will keep you smiling with her goofy antics and endless affection, Tabi is ready to become your new best friend. ❤️Tabi's adoption fee is $175, which helps support their medical care and preparation for adoption. Please note: All of our animals are spayed/neutered and up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations. Each pet also receives a behavioral assessment to help us better understand the type of home they may thrive in. However, it’s important to remember that the results may not fully reflect an animal’s true personality, as shelter and foster environments can be stressful. If you are interested in meeting any of our animals, we encourage you to first visit our website and submit an adoption application: https://www.acskc.org/adopt-1Once your adoption application has been approved, we will call you to set up an appointment to meet with the pet!
