Meet Jason! 1-Year-Old Male Dachshund | Now Accepting Applications! Meet Jason, a handsome, playful little dachshund with a big personality, a loving heart, and a very special way of experiencing the world! Jason is deaf, but he doesn't let that slow him down one bit! This clever little boy is remarkably aware of his surroundings, picking up on vibrations, movement, and visual cues. He may not hear your voice, but he certainly knows how to make his own heard! Born October 3, 2025, Jason is just over a year old and full of youthful dachshund energy, curiosity, and affection. A Little About Jason Deaf: Jason relies on his other senses to navigate the world. He hasn't learned hand signals yet, so he'll need a patient family excited to teach him. Personality: Happy, playful, affectionate, and full of puppy enthusiasm! Other Dogs: Gets along well with other dogs, although his excitement may be a little overwhelming during initial introductions. Children: Good with kids! Cats: Not yet tested. House Training: Previously reported as potty trained, but he sometimes mistakes rugs and carpets for potty pads. Continued training will help him succeed. Crate Training: Not yet crate trained, but may benefit from a consistent routine. Sleeping: Has his own bed but would much rather snuggle up with his people! Grooming: Accustomed to regular grooming and nail trims. Jason's Perfect Forever Home Jason needs a family who understands that being deaf doesn't mean being limited. It simply means communicating a little differently! With patience, consistency, positive reinforcement, and hand signals, Jason has every opportunity to become a wonderful companion. He would love a home where he can play, explore, feel safe, and enjoy plenty of affection. His future family should be prepared to continue his training and help him build confidence through visual communication. Jason is now accepting adoption applications!
