Meet Little Louise! Hi, my name is Little Louise, but my foster family might also call me Goober Louise— because, well… I’m a goober! I’m a silly, sweet girl with a BIG personality packed into a little package. I have wild bursts of energy that I immediately follow up with a cozy nap on the couch, in the dog bed, or — preferably — right in my foster parent’s lap. I’m a total Velcro girl, so wherever you are, that’s where I want to be. Bathroom? I’m coming. Kitchen? Me too. Couch? Already there! ❤️ I love running around the yard and getting my daily zoomies. One of my favorite activities is instigating a good old-fashioned chase with my foster brother and sister. I also LOVE my toys, especially harder plastic-style toys, tough chews, and Himalayan cheese. If it’s durable and fun to chew, Louise approves! I’m working on my leash skills, but I’ll be honest… I am currently a bit of a menace on walks.  I zigzag, weave between your legs, and occasionally turn the leash into a full-body entanglement device. Because of this, I’d do best with someone who is confident handling a silly, energetic pup rather than an older or elderly person. I’m also an escape artist and can make a beeline out an open door faster than you can say “Louise!” I do come when called, which helps, but I’m still not a dog who should be trusted off-leash in busy or unsecured areas. A secure yard and careful door management will be important for me. I am fearful of men, so I’ll need a patient family who understands that I may need some time and positive experiences to build confidence around them. The good news? I’m already learning! I know “come,” “kennel,” “go potty,” and “outside,” and I’m continuing to work on my leash manners and impulse control. I would be an amazing match for a family with respectful kids who will give me space when I need it and join me for plenty of playtime and adventures. With continued training, patience, and lots of love, I have the potential to go from silly little goober to the biggest little angel sweetie pie.  If you’re looking for a funny, affectionate, energetic little shadow who will keep you laughing and never let you feel lonely, Little Louise might just be your girl!  Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe.
