Description
Meet Ophelia, the gorgeous calico girl. Ophelia came to the Shelter as a stray so we donât know much about her life before now. Some good Samaritans were feeding her and tried to find her family, but nobody came forward. To ensure she was safe, they brought her to the Shelter for medical treatment (vaccinations and spay surgery) to prepare for adoption. This sweet girl has been a little shy, and likes to keep to herself in her cubby, but with a little coaxing she starts to solicit pets. She headbutts and leans into head scratches. Despite her fear, she is very brave and will love a home where she can decompress and learn to trust her people. Ophelia may do well in a home with other animals after a slow, thoughtful introduction. Please note: Our Santa Cruz locationâs Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end âmeet and greetsâ (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If youâd like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
