Description

Trudy is 9 years old, and she'd like a word with whoever decided that means slowing down. She'll check the whole yard before she checks you — over the rocks, into the leaves, all business — and she'll circle back on her own schedule. Sit down and give her a few minutes and she comes in, and then she's in your lap and won't get out of it. That's the deal with her: she decides, and once she's decided, she's yours. At a sleek 50-ish pounds, Trudy co-exists peacefully with dogs and cats. What she wants is someone unhurried, a quick potty and security check yard, then a couch buddy to unwind with at the end of her day. Age: 9 Weight: ~50 Temperament: Gets along with people, dogs, and cats Training: Housetrained and crate-trained; professional couch potato Vetting: Spay/neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm negative Email for questions: kbstine@emory.edu Apply: https://doggieharmony.org/forms Doggie Harmony is a pet placement and matchmaking service that works with community members who are already housing a pet. Interested adopters are asked to apply at https://doggieharmony.org/forms and allow a home visit, so we can make sure each pet is a great match. Please ask the pet’s current caretaker directly about their return process, and request an adoption contract. While we can’t offer immediate intake for dogs that need to be returned, we’re always happy to help a family rehome a pet while they continue to care for it. Every match keeps a pet out of Georgia’s overcrowded shelters, where more than 30,000 dogs and cats are euthanized each year. Updated: 11/3/26
