  DOB 10/1623, weight 16 # Hey there, everyone! I’m Papito, a black and tan Jackshund (Jack Russell/ Dachshund mix) fella. I was happily situated in my adoptive home until my owners encountered financial difficulties. Unfortunately they had to downsize to a smaller home and couldn’t take me with them. Thank heavens my new foster mom welcomed me with open arms until I can find a new home. I get along great with the visiting grandkids, other small dogs, and even the cats in my foster home, although I’m nervous around large dogs whom I meet on walks. Because my previous household was quiet, when I first arrived in my foster home, I was very fearful and shy because of the robust dog and cat activity. Fortunately, Foster Mom knew that it would take time and patience for me to adjust into my new “digs,” and with her gentle voice and affectionate touch, she has been showing me that I am securely loved, and --voilà! – watching me blossom has been something truly special for her. My prior owners had not trained me well, but Foster Mom is helping me work on my housetraining and crate-training – let’s just say that I’m a work-in-progress. Now I’m looking for the family who will welcome me into my forever household. If you have a quiet home and a little patience, I think we might be exactly who each of us has been waiting for.
