Beau is a handsome 1-year-old Lab mix weighing about 55 pounds, although he’s a little on the skinny side and is working toward his goal weight of around 60 pounds. We think he may have some Hound or even Great Dane mixed in — and those long legs, slender build, and gorgeous floppy ears certainly make us wonder! Beau has the most beautiful jet-black coat and an even more beautiful personality. This boy has never met a stranger! He absolutely loves people and is always ready for pets, attention, and plenty of love. He’s great with kids, although because he doesn’t realize he’s a big boy and not a lap dog, he may be a little too much for very small children.Beau is wonderful with other dogs 30 pounds and up. He loves running around the yard and playing with his dog friends, but he’s also respectful when another dog isn’t interested in playing. He’d love a home where he can have some room to run and enjoy his daily exercise.On leash, Beau is definitely a strong boy! He’ll need someone willing to continue working on his leash manners, and an easy-walk harness would be a great tool to help him learn. Once he gets his exercise, though, he’s not a high-energy dog and is perfectly happy to hang out with his people.Beau is also a great car rider and hops right in when it’s time to go! He knows sit and down, loves catching treats in the air, and thinks chasing a ball is pretty much the best thing ever. He does jump up to say hello, but he is very gentle about it — he’s just a big, goofy puppy who hasn’t quite realized how big he is yet! Beau is the kind of dog who will make you smile every day. He’s affectionate, friendly, playful, and eager to learn. He just needs a family who will give him some daily exercise, continue his training, and let him be the lovable goofball he is.
