Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure Asher #4 finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 72 hours  (please check your spam folder for our emails) .   Asher #4 | 2-year-old Heeler mix | Your adventure-loving best friend Meet Asher, a 35-pound bundle of sweetness with kind eyes and a heart full of love! This handsome grey-and-white boy may start out a little shy and skittish, especially around men, but give him a few minutes and he warms up quickly. Once he feels comfortable, he’s all about being near his people, cuddling on the couch, and asking for affection by resting his head on you, offering you his paw, or rolling over for belly rubs. He even has an adorable little prance that’s sure to make you smile! Asher is a playful, energetic boy who thrives when he has plenty of activity and opportunities to explore. He loves playing fetch, going for walks, and spending time with his favorite humans. A quick stroll around the block won't cut it for this guy! He’ll be happiest with an active family who enjoys long walks, hikes, outdoor adventures, and daily play sessions. With plenty of exercise and mental stimulation, he can settle nicely at home, but an active lifestyle is where he truly shines. If he needs a little help entertaining himself, a tasty chew bone or favorite chew toy does the trick, giving him a fun and appropriate outlet for his energy. Asher is friendly with dogs of all sizes and would love a canine companion to play with, though he has a submissive, gentle approach to making friends. He’s also fantastic with children, both young and older, making him a lovely candidate for an active family home. He hasn’t met cats yet, so his compatibility with feline friends is unknown. This good boy is doing great with his house manners and hasn’t had any accidents in his foster home. When he needs to go outside, he’ll whine or stand by the door to let you know. He also does beautifully when left home alone for a few hours, without a crate, and has shown no signs of separation anxiety. He sleeps well through the night, knows how to sit, and is working on improving his leash skills and learning not to pull. Asher is looking for a loving, active home that will give him the exercise, engagement, and companionship he needs to thrive. In return, you'll get a sweet, affectionate, playful sidekick who's ready to join you on life's adventures and then snuggle up with you after a busy day. And if you happen to have Greenies or baby carrots, you may just become his favorite person ever!   If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $400. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.  Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.
