Description

His progress has been just as impressive as his good looks. When he first arrived, he was so terrified that he stayed completely hidden. In just a few weeks, thanks to the care and support of the volunteers, he transformed from a little invisible cat into a curious companion who now comes over to climb on us.   Endlessly gentle, François does not hiss, bite, or scratch. While he remains a little shy, a small creamy treat or a play session is usually enough to quickly bring him out of his shell. He especially loves interactive play that gently stimulates his hunting instinct, watching him come alive and reveal his true personality. Playtime is a wonderful way to build a bond with him while allowing him to gain confidence at his own pace.François would be happiest in a quiet family that is ready to let him adjust at his own pace. He needs a peaceful, caring home with soothing voices. He could do very well with young children, provided they are gentle and respectful. The presence of another friendly and soft-natured cat could help him gain confidence, but he could just as easily thrive as the only cat in the house. For now, François prefers staying close to the ground and isn't comfortable being held just yet. However, with a suitable environment, cozy hiding spots to retreat to, and window sills to watch the world outside, he will gradually feel at home and settle in comfortably. An acclimatization room will be essential upon his arrival to let him peacefully explore his new surroundings. François is also positive for the Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). Being FIV-positive certainly doesn't stop him from being a happy, active, and affectionate cat. With proper care, a quality diet, regular veterinary check-ups, and a safe, stimulating environment, FIV-positive cats can live many happy years and fully enjoy their daily lives. Special attention to his overall health, nutrition, dental care, and mental stimulation will help maintain his quality of life and well-being. For more information about FIV: https://www.canadianveterinarians.net/related-resources/feline-immunodeficiency-virus-fiv/ François is an adult cat, and his adoption fee is $310. He is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Six weeks of pet insurance are included with his adoption.
