Description
Sake is a spayed 9-year-old female cat, up to date on vaccinations. She has some hair loss on her underside, we think due to food sensitivity. She has previously lived happily with another cat, but is currently a solo cat in foster care. Here’s what her foster volunteer says about her: How would you describe the cat's general personality? Generally Sake is a low energy sociable cat. She spends most hours of the day sleeping but when she is awake she is very chatty and enjoys affection from anyone who is willing to give it to her. Does the cat enjoy being pet? If yes, on what parts of its body does the cat like to be pet? Yes, she likes being pet on her head, and chin. She also likes her butt scratched as well! Are there any parts of its body that the cat does NOT like being touched? She does not like to be touched on her belly and also doesn't like her paws being handled. Does the cat come on your lap? No. Does the cat like to be held? No. Does the cat sleep in your bed? Yes. Does the cat seek your attention? Yes! She will paw at you until you pet her and will often meow at me in the middle of the night for some late-night cuddles. Does the cat like to play? What are the cat's favorite games and toys? Yes! She enjoys a cat laser and also any toy on a string. Being that she is an older cat and a bit heavier she tires easily. How vocal is the cat? Very! What kinds of sounds does the cat make? She meows and chirps and purrs. Does the cat scratch a scratcher? No, she will mostly just scratch the carpet. Does the cat always use the litter box? Yes. What food and frequency is the cat currently eating? She is currently eating 3 cans of beef wet food a day and some freeze dried beef treats Is the cat picky about food? We recently changed her diet to exclusively beef because of a suspected allergy to fish and/or chicken due to slow hair regrowth. She is much more enthusiastic about mealtime now that she is eating beef and often finishes all of her food. What is the cat's favorite treat? Freeze-dried beef What medication is the cat on, and how is it administered? N/A Does the cat ever swat (claws in) at you? If so, under what circumstances? No. Has the cat ever scratched (claws out) you? Yes, anytime we are trying to get her into her carrier-- it might be her least favorite thing ever. Does the cat ever nip (teeth without breaking skin) you? Sometimes after lots of butt scratches but it doesn't hurt (we think it might be love bites) Has the cat ever bitten you (breaking skin)? No. To the best of your knowledge, how does the cat react to new people? Social? Fearful? She is very social and has a fear of missing out if we have guests over-- she must be the center of attention and will meow at the door until she is set free. If you have observed the cat with other animals, please describe how they get on? N/A Does that cat have any cute/quirky traits that aren’t covered by the previous questions? Yes! Sake gets "happy tail" all the time! Her tail will twitch and vibrate for mealtime or whenever I get home after being away for the day. In your opinion, what is the best thing about the cat? Why should an adopter choose THIS cat to adopt? She is incredibly easy-going and will make for a great companion as she loves attention in all forms. What are the cat's challenges and how have you found to best manage them? She is an older cat and categorically overweight so that has come with its own health issues. It’s definitely not fun trying to transport her as she tends to get very stressed in her carrier/ in the car. We manage by offering her lots of pets during the journey. The suggest donation for Sake is $300 (negotiable).
