Description
Meet Janice!Janice is a tiny 9-pound girl, estimated to be around 2–3 years old, who is still learning that the world can be a safe and wonderful place. We think she has so much potential, and with a little patience and a lot of love, she’s sure to keep blossoming!Janice can be nervous around new people and needs time to warm up. She isn’t a fan of strangers reaching out to pet her, so she’ll do best with someone who respects her space and lets her build trust at her own pace. Once she feels comfortable, her cuddly side starts to shine! One of the sweetest things she does is tuck her little head under your chin and snuggle in when you hold her. ❤️She enjoys exploring the backyard and spending time in your arms. Janice is still figuring out the basics of being a pet, including potty training and leash manners, so she’ll need a patient adopter who understands that progress takes time. She does well in her crate after a few minutes of whining and settles best when her crate is in a quiet, secluded spot with a blanket over it. She can be vocal, too, and may need time to decompress and feel secure in her new home.Janice has done well around the other dogs in her foster home, but she can be protective of her food. She’ll need to be fed separately from other pets, with careful management around mealtimes. A confident canine companion might be a good fit, though she could also enjoy being your one and only. Her compatibility with cats is unknown, and a home with older, dog-savvy children would be preferable to one with young kids.Because Janice is so small and can be nervous on leash, a securely fenced yard would be a wonderful bonus. Her adopter will need to be especially careful about open doors and gates, as she’s a door darter and can squeeze through surprisingly small spaces. She should never be left off leash in an unsecured area.Janice is looking for a calm, understanding home where she can settle in at her own pace, learn the routines of a loving household, and discover that she doesn’t have to be afraid anymore. She may need some extra guidance, but the reward is getting to watch this little girl gain confidence and share more of her sweet, snuggly personality.Could you be the safe place Janice has been waiting for?Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis.
