PANDA

Description

Meet Panda, the 1 year old miniature Schnauzer mix. Panda originally came to the Shelter as a stray. She spent a short amount of time in a foster home where we learned more about her. Panda is looking for a patient, dog savvy adopter that will give her time to settle into her new home. Panda has been through a lot – being found as a stray, being in a Shelter and then being in a short-term home. She can be a bit unsettled in new spaces and with new people but given time and patience – we anticipate Panda will bond with her family and relax into her new life. Panda seems to enjoy the company of other dogs and may appreciate a canine companion in the home. Any resident dogs are recommended to meet at the Shelter prior to adoption. We do not have any history of Panda with children or cats. Panda is off to a great start with potty and crate training. On Saturday, October 31st, the Shelter is celebrating Halloween through an “Adopt Your Boo” special. This dog’s adoption fee will be reduced to $31. The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation is now offering “Pawsitivity Bucks” with every dog adoption. This $200 training voucher is a way for newly adopted canines and their guardians to connect with local positive reinforcement based behavior consultants and get their relationship started off on the right paw! Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
