Description

HOW DO YOU WAIT FIVE YEARS... AND STILL KEEP SMILING? My name is Roscoe, and I'm still waiting. Not because I'm a bad dog. Not because I don't know how to be part of a family. Simply because nobody has given me a chance. For the first three years, I was with a rescue that loved me, but sadly they had to close their doors. Through no fault of my own, I found myself searching for a new rescue. Thankfully, another rescue stepped in and has cared for me for the last two years. Even though they've done everything they can for me, I've still spent every day living in boarding instead of a home. Five years is a long time to wait. I'm about 7 years old and the people who know me say I'm the easiest dog to love. I'm calm, house-trained, kennel-trained, and have wonderful manners. I know sit, down, and shake, take treats gently, and I'm happiest just being with my person. I can be a little cautious when meeting new people, but all I ask is for a little patience. Give me the chance to get to know you, and I'll reward you with a lifetime of loyalty, love, and friendship. I just need someone willing to see past my first few moments and into my heart. I love car rides with the windows down, walk beautifully on leash, and don't pay attention to dogs, joggers, or bicycles passing by. My favorite thing in the whole world? Water! Turn on a hose, fill up a kiddie pool, or take me swimming, and you'll see my goofy, playful side come alive. I've done well with larger dogs with a proper introduction. It's unknown how I do with small dogs, I need a home without cats, and because young children make me a little nervous, I'd do best in a home with teens ages 16 and older. I'm neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and so ready to trade my kennel for a couch, a backyard, and a family to call my own. Please give this sweet boy the chance he's been waiting five years for. I promise I'm worth it.   Phoenix, AZ  Foster: www.shelterluv.com/matchme/foster/FPP/Dog  Adopt: www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FPP/Dog  Questions? Text 602-695-6232 Please share my story.
