Description
Turbo is a portly gentleman. He is about 8 years of age. He ended up being confiscated by Animal protection services and brought to our local shelter where he was placed on a ten day hold. No one came to reclaim him. After that time, he was released to us. It looks like he has been at the shelter at least once a year for the last couple of years. Turbo has a lump on his forearm which we had an FNA done on and found out it is just a lipoma; a fatty tumor and does not need to be removed. We also completed some blood work as he had previous abnormal bloodwork and the shelter questioned a possible endocrine disease. His bloodwork and evaluation by our veterinarian determined it is highly unlikely as he did not have the markers. Turbo is very food driven and likely given lots of people food. He is definitely overweight by at least 15 lbs. We do have him on a diet which he is not happy about. We are working on getting that weight off of him. Other than that, he does have energy and does run around. He also is very even keel and a chill guy. Adoption fee is $250 which helps cover all of the medical for all of the dogs in the rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated and micro chipped and many have received further treatment for such conditions as lump removal, severe ear infections, dental cleanings, bloodwork, leg injuries, etc.. We do out of state adoptions but require a submitted application, a home visit (sometimes we cannot get this done and then we can not adopt), and the adopter must come to Las Vegas to meet the potential dog(s), possibly adopt, and then drive the dog back. Disclaimer: The SNBRF has the right to deny applications based on our adoption policies established for the consideration of the health, safety, and well-being of the dog. Beagles can have a lifespan of 15-18 years. Therefore, beagles or any other breed who are under 3 years of age will NOT be adopted to anyone over the age of 62. For individuals who are 70 years of age and older, the dogs must be 8 years or older
