DAKOTA

Description

Oh, look… a cattle dog! Meet Dakota! One of the several cattle dogs, all from the same former home, here searching for her forever! This beautiful 3 year old herder is the sweetest bundle of energy, and she LOVES to walk and play! She got along great with all of her former housemate friends, with Papaw Wyatt being her absolute favorite! She can be a little jumpy when walking with the leash, but with consistency and continued training, she will have that figured out in no time! Winning the heart of both staff and volunteers alike, we aren’t sure why this sweet girl hasn’t found her family yet. If you have forever and are looking to add a ‘plus one’, she would love that opportunity to meet you! We always recommend meet and greets with and children prior to adoption to ensure a great fit for all, also! We don’t have information on how she does with cats and no way to test for this.If you can’t promise forever, please consider waiting until that can be a promise kept, BEFORE adopting! And remember the 3-3-3 Rule when adopting a shelter pet. 3 days for your new pet to decompress3 weeks for your new family member to settle in3 months for them to build trustDakota’s adoption fee is waived and her adopter will receive two FREE sessions with HK9 Training! All of our adoptable dogs/puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and UTD on all age-appropriate vaccines/preventatives. Adopters will need to establish vet care upon adopting to maintain their new family member’s health and wellness. Please bring a collar and leash OR purchase a combo from us for only $15 to safely take your new family member home. We are located at 430 Bristol Drive in Statesville, NC.
