Description

Beau is a handsome 4-year-old Poodle/Mini Australian Shepherd mix weighing in at about 18 pounds! Quick Facts: Name: Beau Breed: Poodle/Mini Australian Shepherd Mix  Age: 4 year old Weight: 18 lbs. House-Trained: Yes Crate-Trained: Yes Good with Dogs: Yes (submissive dogs only) Good with Cats: Yes Good with Kids: Yes (he would do best with dog-savvy kids) Energy Level: Low-medium Fence Required: No  Dog's Location: Raleigh, NC About Beau’s Breed: Beau is a Poodle/Mini Australian Shepherd mix. Poodle/Mini Australian Shepherd mixes, often called Mini Aussiedoodles, are known for being intelligent, affectionate, and people-oriented dogs. They tend to form strong bonds with their families and enjoy being involved in daily activities, whether that's going for walks, learning new things, playing outside, or curling up for cuddle time. Because they are a mix of two smart, active breeds, they thrive in homes that can provide both mental stimulation and regular exercise. Their ideal home includes a family that enjoys spending time with their dog, offers consistent training and structure, and provides opportunities for outdoor activities. Many also love having a safely fenced yard where they can run and explore, but their greatest happiness comes from being with their people and feeling like part of the family. What to Love about Beau: This sweet, affectionate boy is looking for a family who will appreciate his loving nature, adventurous spirit, and passion for cuddles. If you're searching for a dog who enjoys being close to his people, Beau may be your perfect match! He absolutely loves attention and is happiest when he's soaking up affection, snuggling on the couch, or relaxing in your lap. Toys, walks, and quality cuddle time are some of his favorite things! Beau spent most of his life in the country, where he had the freedom of a large fenced yard and didn't have to worry about the hustle and bustle of suburban life. Since moving to his foster home in Raleigh, he's been working hard to adjust to new sights and sounds like bicycles, scooters, strollers, passing dogs, and increased traffic. He's making progress every day but will benefit from a patient adopter who can continue helping him build confidence and learn to stay calm around distractions while out on walks. One thing that's certain: Beau loves the outdoors! Whether it's sunny or raining, he's ready for an adventure. While a fence isn't required, Beau would be overjoyed to have a fenced yard where he can safely run, play, and enjoy one of his favorite activities, simply being outside. Beau is fully potty trained, crate trained, and has excellent house manners. He can happily relax in a crate when you're away or free roam for shorter periods. He's also very food-motivated, which makes training easier, though he can be protective of food around other dogs and should be fed separately. Beau has spent most of his life with two other dogs, including his son, so transitioning to a new home will be a big life change for him. He generally gets along well with other dogs but prefers not to be pushed around and does best when he can be the confident dog in the relationship. Because of this, he would likely thrive as an only dog or in a home with another easygoing dog that won't challenge him. When meeting new people, Beau may announce their arrival with a few barks, but once introductions are made, his true personality shines through. He quickly settles in and eagerly accepts pets, affection, and all the attention you're willing to give. Beau has lived with cats and happily ignores them, making him a great candidate for a home with feline friends. He hasn't had much experience with younger children but would likely do well with respectful kids who understand how to interact gently with dogs. Overall, Beau is a sweet, loyal companion who combines a mellow personality with just the right amount of playful energy. If you're looking for a loving best friend who enjoys walks, outdoor adventures, cozy lap time, and being part of the family, Beau may be waiting just for you. Beau's perfect home: A family that will continue his training, provide plenty of love and attention, enjoy regular walks, and ideally offer a fenced yard where he can run, explore, and be his happiest self.
