Meet Brutus, a handsome boy whose story began with a very lucky rescue! Brutus came to OHRR in May 2026 when he was only about 10 weeks old, but his journey to safety started with his brave mama. In May, a Good Samaritan spotted a stray rabbit in the middle of a rural road and nearly hit her with their car. Thankfully, they stopped to rescue her. It was clear she had been someone's pet who was abandoned outside, but she hadn't lost her trust in people. Her rescuer shared that she came right up to them and fell asleep in their arms on the way home! After trying to find help for her, they eventually connected with rescue, and just a week later, she gave birth to five babies—two boys and three girls. Brutus was one of those little ones! Thanks to that Good Samaritan, Brutus and his family had a chance at a much safer beginning than they would have had outdoors. Instead of facing the dangers of life on their own, they were given the opportunity to grow up in safety and receive the care they needed. Now Brutus is ready for his own next chapter. Every domestic rabbit deserves a safe, loving home, and we're so glad this little guy's story brought him to OHRR. We hope his future is filled with comfort, happiness, and a family who will cherish him for all his years to come!
