Description
Abandoned by a Missouri rabbit hunter, Sundae aka Sunni has very happily traded in hunting beagle for house beagle. She is friendly, good natured and stinkinh cute! It has been our experience that she does fine with other dogs, but it is ckear that she is much more focused on humans and absolutely loves to cuddle. In order to provide as much information as we can we will share the following. Sunni had been adopted in May and was doing wonderfully until there was a sudden and totally suprising altercation with the other dog. Even though we gathered as much information as we could regarding the exact nature of the scuffle, we are not really sure of the cause. Two possibilities are that it may have been food related, although the dish was empty, or it may have been a startle reflex that unfortunately ended up in an conflict between two dogs who had previously been getting along just fine. Neither dog was seriously injured, just wounds that did not require stitches. Sunni was returned 2 days later. Since then we have tried her in a foster home with 9 other dogs and then moved her to her original foster home with 2 dogs and a cat. There has been no indication of discomfort, no warning growls. All is fine. We do not think Sunni would mind at all being an only dog, but we are open to a home with another dog under the right circumstances. Sunni has done well with house training in her foster homes where she has had frequent and easy access to the outside. She is fine with sleeping in her crate as long as the crate is in the bedroom, and we would always recommend that beagles be fed in their crates. She is fully vetted and ready for a sleepover and we hope and pray for the very best situation for this deserving beagle girl.
