10/14/26 14:29 Salmon is entirely healed up and waiting for his new home! He likes to burrow and hide but is sweet and will decompress with familiar faces. His severe inguinal and hip infections are entirely healed, he is fully dewormed, vaccinated, flea treated and FELV/FIV negative. He has a broken tooth that is not discolored and has no active gingivitis, but the adopter should have their primary care veterinarian monitor this tooth and it may warrant extraction in the future. Please come to the shelter to request to meet sweet Salmon - you may just find your forever friend!09/28/26 18:22 Salmon is a sweet prior altered young adult male who was transferred in from emergency facility and was treated for deep necrotic abscess at left hip and inguinal area. The left hip infection required surgical debridement and suturing. He's been on pain medication and antibiotics. Initial xrays of the hip did not show any evidence of deeper bone infection at the pelvis or femur.The severe infection in his inguinal area has resolved - however, at 7 day recheck there is still some mild discharge at the L hip infection area but the sutures remain in place.He also has a fractured canine tooth.In need of **urgent rescue** who can continue antibiotics and monitoring of his left hip abscess site that was surgically treated, have sutures removed at day 14 once infection is cleared, and if infection does not clear pursue aerobic culture and repeat radiographs of the hip area to confirm whether or not deeper bone infection is present and to guide further antibiotic selection as needed.He has been vaccinated with FVRCP, dewormed and given flea preventative.
