Description

OTHER PETS: Schnitzel is stiff and uncomfortable after prolonged interaction with other dogs. It is easy to ask for his attention when passing other dogs, but he will not be adopted into a home with other animals. [Should Be Only Pet]OWNER EXPERIENCE: Positive reinforcement or willingness to learn will be an ideal fit. Schnitzel is very good at communicating his discomfort around other dogs, he needs a human who is very good at recognizing his body language and providing whatever support (prompts, relocation, etc) is best for Schnitzel in the moment. [Some Experience]KIDS: Schnitzel is an independent dog who will seek interactions from people yet has not been very playful at the shelter, which may change in a home once he decompresses; he is very interested in his environment and has spent his time at TJO exploring whatever he can with his nose and interacting with people once his curiosity is satisfied. He may be comfortable with respectful children, minors and children should be actively supervised to be sure everyone is safe and comfortable. [Case by Case (Must Meet First)]ACTIVITY LEVEL: Schnitzel loves exploring the world around him and will love the sniffs and exploring once he's comfortable in his own yard; a combination of regular exercise, and mental enrichment such as food puzzles, sniffing, games, and learning new tricks will fully meet his needs and prevent boredom. [Good Walking Buddy]VETERINARY CARE: [Routine] LEVEL OF TRAINING NEEDED: Positive reinforcement will help Schnitzel bond with his new owner, build confidence, and learn new skills and fun tricks. [Minimal] GROOMING: [Minimal]
