Meet Lemon the Cockapoo! Lemon is a sweet, friendly, and fun-loving girl who loves being around people and other dogs! She has a big heart and an even bigger love for her people. Whether she’s snuggled up beside you, stretched across your lap for some extra cuddles, or playing in the yard, Lemon is happiest when she’s near her favorite humans. Lemon is an active girl who enjoys walks of 1–2 miles and exploring the great outdoors. She may pull a little at the beginning of a walk, but she settles into a nice pace once she gets going. She can also get overexcited when passing people and other dogs, sometimes barking and pulling on her leash. She seems eager to say hello to everyone! With patience, guidance, and continued training, she can work on making those encounters calmer and more manageable. At home, Lemon likes to keep an eye on things. She may bark out the window at people passing by or alert you to squirrels in the yard. Speaking of squirrels, Lemon loves a good backyard adventure! She enjoys running around, chasing squirrels and bunnies, and sniffing out all the interesting scents they leave behind. Because she has a strong prey drive, a home without small animals like cats, rabbits, or birds would likely be the best fit. Lemon enjoys the company of other dogs but is confident enough to be the only dog in the home, too. She hasn’t been around young children, but her friendly, people-loving nature is a wonderful quality. A thoughtful introduction to any children in her future home would be best. Treats, bully sticks, toys, outdoor adventures, and quality time with her people are some of Lemon’s favorite things. She can be a snuggly lap dog one moment and happily lounge nearby the next. She has the perfect mix of playful energy and affectionate companionship. Lemon is a truly lovely girl with so much love to give. Whoever welcomes this sweet girl into their family will be very lucky to have her! ❤️ Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe.
