Description

* This dog will be at the Palo Alto Pet Food Express on Saturday, October 17th from 12PM – 3PM (unless adopted prior to the event).  3910 Middlefield Road All DPS Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, flea/tick treated, and microchipped prior to adoption.   Adoption fee: $800   Macrame: Ready to Weave Her Way into Your Heart 1–2 years old • 11 lbs • Poodle mix • Non-shedding   Macrame has a very specific approach to interior decorating: every couch needs a dog, every lap needs a cuddle, and any clothing you leave out would look better with her curled up on it. This little curly-coated sweetheart is ready to turn your house into a home—with herself as the finishing touch.   Rescued from the shelter with her sister Crochet, Macrame is now looking for a home of her own. She brought her affectionate personality into foster care from day one, immediately making it clear that snuggling would be a major part of her job description.   Handcrafted for Cuddles   Macrame loves attention and is wonderfully resourceful about finding it. Petting the resident dog? A little curly head may slide beneath your hand to politely request a turn. Heading into another room? She’ll come along to see whether affection is available there, too. Even a trip to the bathroom apparently warrants a companion.   She also loves riding in a sling, where she sometimes gets so comfortable that she falls asleep. Being carried around close to her person while someone else handles the transportation? Excellent service. Five stars.   Although she’s playful and energetic, Macrame can settle nicely when her foster is busy. She lounges in her bed, stretches out on the couch, or takes up her post by the window to inspect the neighborhood. When her person is away, a robe or pile of clothes makes a particularly comforting nap spot.   A Flexible Routine—with Breakfast Firmly on the Agenda   Macrame has adapted well to her foster’s changing schedule. On office days, she wakes around 7 a.m., enjoys breakfast, and heads out for a walk around 7:30. On slower mornings, she’s happy to sleep until about 9:30 before breakfast and a 10 a.m. outing.   Breakfast is served in a slow feeder because Macrame approaches even plain kibble with the enthusiasm of a food critic who has just discovered her favorite restaurant. She LOVES to eat. She also enjoys checking whether the resident dog has left any leftovers—or whether his treat might accidentally be intended for her.   An evening walk around 7–8 p.m. gives her another opportunity to do her business. At bedtime, she happily sleeps through the night in her crate in her foster’s bedroom, with the door closed. Her crate is a familiar, comfortable retreat.   Small Dog, Big Curiosity   Macrame is bright, inquisitive, and interested in what’s happening around her. She enjoys playing with and chewing her toys, exploring, and spending time with her people. Her appetite should make food-based games and reward-based training especially appealing.   She responds to guidance, but she’s a sensitive girl who can take a stern correction to heart. Gentle, consistent teaching will suit her best.    Friends, Walks, and Everyday Manners   Macrame lives with a 10 lb senior Poodle and respects that he isn’t interested in much play. She gives him space, though she’s happy to borrow his bed when he vacates it. She has also enjoyed attention from children ages 9–14 and readily approaches people who are willing to fuss over her.   On walks, she generally does well and often matches the resident dog’s pace. She pulls a little and may whine when certain dogs pass, but her foster has not seen her bark at dogs or people while out walking.     Settling into Home Life  Macrame has shown excellent potty habits in her foster home. She used a potty pad on her first day, then switched to doing her business outdoors on walks, with no subsequent accidents reported.   The Perfect Thread in Your Family   Macrame would love a home where affection is plentiful, play and walks are part of the routine, and her clever little mind gets opportunities to stay busy. A compatible canine companion could be a lovely bonus, and she has enjoyed the company of gentle older children.   She brings a delightful combination of cuddly sweetness, youthful curiosity, and enough personality to keep you laughing. If you’ve been looking for a little dog who can turn an ordinary evening into a cozy one, Macrame is ready to tie it all together.
