Hi!  My name is Missy and I am looking for a forever home.  I was picked up as a stray when I was just a puppy and taken to a scary place called a shelter.  I was not reclaimed and no one wanted to adopt me as I came in pretty skinny, lots of fleas and missing a lot of hair; however, the shelter folks took care of me as best they could and contacted a small local rescue to see if they could take me as I was running out of time.  A volunteer with that rescue contacted BCAA to see if they could help me and they said yes!  I appear to be an australian shepherd mix and the vet thinks I'm about 5-6mo old and currently weigh a little under 40lbs, so the thinking is I'm probably going to be a little on the larger size when full grown.  While I was a little scared & shy upon first arriving at my fosters, I'm a smart girl and it didn't take me long to learn I was safe, got regular good meals and treats, enjoyed some good loving, and had lots of fun playing with the other foster dogs.  I have done really well in my crate without any accidents or tearing up of my bedding & will go in when asked; however, I would prefer to be out with you and may let you know not to forget about me if I see or hear you but I'm not a really loud girl.  I have done ok on leash but just know I will get better with practice (those treats will help, too!).  If you would like to learn more about me or meet me, please fill out an application which can be found at www.bcaaofnj.org.
