Description
Geddy Lee is a distinguished older gentleman who had absolutely no business being at the shelter! We know nothing about his background, but it appears that at some point in his approximately 9 years on this planet that he was somebody’s cherished pet. Aside from his obvious, GORGEOUS classic black/tan German Shepherd look, he seems to have an overall wonderful temperament. He is an ideal weight of around 75 pounds, and is still very spry for his age! He will be seeing a vet soon, as it is suspected that he might have Pannus, a chronic eye condition that is easily treated with eye drops. He gets along well with the other four dogs in his foster home, which includes GCGSR girl Gidget, but he has not yet been introduced to the cat. Stay tuned for that! Geddy walks wonderfully on leash and rides nicely in the car. While he is social with all dogs he meets (he participated in play groups at the shelter also), he is also very human-oriented. He wants to be in whichever room his foster mom is in. He lays quietly by her side when she works from home and can also be left at unattended at home if she works in office. He sleeps loose in the house on a dog bed, but he will also sleep in the crate if desired or necessary. He very quickly picked up on the routines in his foster home, and he knows basic commands such as sit, down, shake. There is a doggie door at his foster home, but he also appears to be housebroken without the use of the dog door, as he initially tried to alert his foster mom that he needed something. We are still getting to know Geddy Lee, but he has certainly made a great first impression on his foster mom! Is your home the ideal place for this sweet boy to land and spend his remaining years?
