Description
Meet Dolly! This adorable, scruffy little girl is about 1½ years old and weighs approximately 13 pounds. We believe she is a West Highland White Terrier Westie and Cockapoo mix. Though she is still learning that people and the world around her can be safe, Dolly has a gentle spirit and is making wonderful progress with patience and encouragement. Dolly is timid around new people and needs an adopter who will give her the time and space to build trust at her own pace. Once she feels comfortable, her sweet personality begins to shine. Her foster dog siblings have been wonderful role models, helping Dolly gain confidence and discover the joys of being a dog. She is learning to walk on a leash, goes potty outside, and settles nicely in her dog bed or crate for sleep. She has also done well when left alone. Since her foster home does not have children or cats, we do not yet know how she would do with them. We do know that she would not do well with young energetic children. Dolly would thrive in a calm, predictable home with a patient adopter and, ideally, a friendly, confident dog companion to help her continue coming out of her shell. Adopting Dolly will require time and understanding, but watching her transform from a timid pup into a trusting, playful companion will be incredibly rewarding. For the person willing to celebrate her small victories, Dolly promises a lifetime of sweetness, loyalty, and love. She is spayed and up to date on vaccinations. Her adoption fee is $300.
