Hi, I’m Dottie! I’m a well-rounded little lady with a rich family heritage of terriers, including Schnauzer, Border Terrier, Cairn Terrier, and maybe even a dash of Poodle! At approximately 12 years young and 15 pounds, I may be a senior, but I still enjoy zooming around the yard and exploring the world with my friends. Of course, my absolute favorite thing is snuggling with my humans!I was found wandering in the woods, covered in fleas and a little too skinny from struggling to find food. Thankfully, I’m now safe in a foster home, back to a healthy weight, and feeling so much better! My fleas are gone, my hair is growing back, and I even enjoy a nice bath. I’m ready to leave my rough past behind and find a family to call my own.My foster home has lots of dogs, and I enjoy having them around, even if I’m not quite ready to play with everyone just yet. We also get plenty of visitors, and people of all ages, including children, are welcome to stop by and give me some love!My foster mom was pleasantly surprised to discover that I’m housebroken. I know the yard is the place to do my business! During the day, I’m happy to relax in my crate when my humans are away, but at bedtime, I’d much rather be near my people. I’m currently sleeping in a dog bed beside my foster mom’s bed, and that works just fine for me.I also enjoy car rides, especially when I get to look out the window and see the world go by. Trips to the pet store are a favorite because I get to meet new people and explore. I even met a bird once! I thought he was pretty interesting and wanted to follow him around his cage. I haven’t met a cat yet, but I’m an optimistic girl and would love to make more friends with proper introductions.Most of the time, I’m a pretty laid-back lady, although my terrier roots mean I can be a little stubborn now and then. The good news is that as I settle in and feel comfortable, that independent streak tends to fade.I’ve been through a lot, and now I’m looking for the simple things in life: a safe home, a cozy bed, adventures with my humans, and plenty of snuggles.
