Description

OTHER PETS: Tippy met other dogs, sniffed as dogs do with some hackles, and felt safer breaking off and exploring. She would likely enjoy living the spoiled life as a single pet, she may get along with another independent dog who is well socialized and mellow. [Only Pet / Case by Case (Must Meet First)]OWNER EXPERIENCE: Experience with positive reinforcement will be ideal, or willingness to learn. Tippy would do best with humans who have experience supporting a dog that need extra time & patience so the pup can decompress while building trust. [Some Experience] KIDS: Tippy has not engaged in resource guarding while at TJO, solicits interaction from people and doesn't take too long to think she is a lap dog; she does get jumpy when she is excited and may accidently squish smaller humans in her enthusiasm. Tippy would do best with humans who are comfortable with large dogs. Minors and dogs should always be actively supervised to be sure eveyone is safe and comfortable. [13+ / dog savvy (Must Meet First)]ACTIVITY LEVEL: Tippy is a dog who enjoys being outside, being with people, napping with people, doing things with people and getting attention from people when she's ready. She would likely really enjoy hiking since she would get to explore outside with people and sniff all the things. A combination of regular exercise combined with mental enrichment such as sniffing, food puzzles, games, and learning skill and fun tricks will help meet her needs. [Good Walking Buddy / Former Highschool Athlete] VETERINARY CARE: Tippy has food sensitivities, and will require regular check ups with a vet to ensure that she recieves appropriate care. She is currently eating a sensitive skin & stomach diet but would likely do best with a personalized diet after veterinarian consult. [Above Average] LEVEL OF TRAINING NEEDED: Positive reinforcement will help bond with her new owner, build confidence, and learn new skills and fun tricks. [Minimal] GROOMING: [Minimal]
