Description
Sweet William's story: Look closely at this handsome boy’s face and you’ll see the map of a survivor. William arrived as a stray, carrying the old scars that tell stories more about how much of a hard life he on the streets than we ever could. But despite everything he’s been through, his heart remains completely untouched by bitterness. William is also the sweetest, most relaxed cat you will meet. He is just here to get love and have a full belly and is looking for a home he can settle down into. William has tested positive for FIV. FIV+ cats can live long and happy lives and can live happily with other cats in the right situation. For more information, please check out these two links: 1) https://www.vet.cornell.edu/departments-centers-and-institutes/cornell-feline-health-center/health-information/feline-health-topics/feline-immunodeficiency-virus-fiv 2) https://www.humaneworld.org/en/all-animals/fiv-positive-cats He is simply looking for a cozy environment with humans who appreciate a big cat with a big personality, and he promises to pay you back in a lifetime of endless purrs, cuddle sessions, and affectionate headbutts. William is a smart boy, and still loves to bat toys and can escape any box he gets into. To keep his immune system strong and healthy, William requires high-quality food, regular annual vet checkups, and a strictly indoor-only lifestyle. He is already fully vetted—meaning he is spayed, vaccinated, combo-tested, dewormed, and microchipped—and ready to settle down. If you have any other pets in the household, our rescue requires that they are fully spayed or neutered and completely up to date on all of their vaccines. Additionally, we will never send William to a home where he will be subjected to declawing. We stand firmly against this harmful surgical practice because it causes permanent physical pain, nerve damage, and severe behavioral struggles for cats. If you are ready to open your heart to this vibrant, loving big tomcat, there are two simple ways to meet him. You can fill out an online cat adoption application right now at dreamhouserescue.org, and our team will gladly arrange a private meet-and-greet for approved applicants. You can also come see his big personality in person at our weekly adoption event, held every single Saturday from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM at PetSmart Eastgate.
