Welcome Fiona! Fiona is a beautiful, estimated 5 year old Rosy Bourke who is both gentle and beautiful. Fiona has been DNA sexed female.  This sweet little girl came to us after being purchased through Craigslist and was surrendered to our rescue not long after. She simply could not be cared for properly.  Despite the shuffling she has experienced, Fiona remains incredibly trusting. She is a loving bird despite the occasional cage protection, but she is all squawk, no bite. She believes herself to be threatening in her housing, even though she definitely is not. Again, to reiterate, she is not aggressive and she does not bite.  She just likes to be portrayed as a toughie.  She can be pretty quiet, but she definitely has a little personality!  Walk into the same room as her and she will protest as if she is saying "excuse me who gave you permission to come in here?" Fiona is a very soft-spoken girl with a beautiful voice. She loves to sing her little ballads both at dawn and dusk.  She has not yet learned to step up, but that doesn't mean she doesn't enjoy being with her people. Fiona loves spending time on your shoulder. She enjoys kisses too   For now, she simply needs to be gently picked up from her cage and placed on your shoulder.  We are working on her becoming more comfortable with stepping up on her own.  During her recent veterinary visit, she was found to be a little underweight; as a result, maintaining a nutritious diet and helping her to reach an ideal weight is especially important.  Fiona enjoys fresh foods, quality seed, and consistent pellets as she continues transitioning towards a well-balanced and healthier diet.  Fiona is an exceptionally good girl-gentle, quiet, affectionate, and full of personality.  She has already shown her foster mom just how trusting she can be, and now she deserves someone who will give her the love and the forever home she should have had from the start. Gentle soul, beautiful singer, sweet little personality, and just enough attitude to keep you laughing. That's Fiona!  She is waiting for someone to see what we see in her   Fiona has been disease tested for PBFD and Chlamydia. Fiona is being fostered in Howell, NJ and will require 2 in-person visits before adoption. She would make a great addition to the right home.  We do not ship our birds.  For the Love of Birds is a network of dedicated foster homes throughout NJ and Eastern PA.
