Description
Meet Honey! Honey is a petite, six-year-old domestic shorthair who weighs just seven pounds. Her adorable short, crooked tail adds to her charm, and she has a special story behind her sweet name. At only three months old, Honey was found with a prolapsed rectum. The women who brought her to the vet requested euthanasia, but her veterinarian reached out to her caregiver, giving Honey a chance. She recovered beautifully after surgery and has had no further trouble. The vet named her Honey after the honey he used during her treatment. Honey enjoys the simple pleasures of life: playing with her toy mouse and kicker toy, scratching her sisal post, and watching birds and squirrels through the window. When her person settles into bed to watch TV, she happily joins them and sleeps beside them for part of the night. She knows her name and will answer when spoken to. She even tolerates nail trims nicely while sitting in a lap! Honey is frightened when other cats approach or chase her and would do best as the only cat in a quiet home. She has never been around children, so a calm adult household would likely be her most comfortable fit. She has lived exclusively indoors since she was a kitten. She currently eats Science Diet Sensitive Stomach & Skin dry food and Fancy Feast pâté. Honey is ready for a peaceful home where she can feel safe, enjoy her favorite toys, and settle beside someone who loves her.
