Smokie (Courtesy Listing)

Description

Smokie is not currently up for adoption at our shelter - instead we are helping his owner, Anna, by listing him as a Courtesy Listing in hopes we can help him find someone that will welcome Smokie into their home!  Anna's contact info is down below for anyone potentially interested. Meet Smokie!!  Smokie is a handsome gray brindle pittie mix with a sweet, affectionate personality. He truly lives up to the phrase "lover, not a fighter." He enjoys playing and roughhousing with his siblings but is happiest when he's spending time with his people and soaking up attention. Smokie is a loving pup who enjoys giving kisses and being close to those he cares about. He is friendly with children and does well around other dogs. He is currently being introduced to cats and is making progress, although he can sometimes be a little enthusiastic and may want to chase them during play. Like many young pups, Smokie is still learning his basic manners and obedience skills. He can be easily distracted, especially when other dogs are around, but he responds well to positive reinforcement and is highly motivated by treats. He already understands the command "kennel" and will willingly go into his crate when asked. During the day, he enjoys being out with the family and is kenneled at bedtime. Smokie is a vocal pup who enjoys expressing himself, so his future family should be prepared for a dog that likes to "talk." He is energetic, curious, and eager to learn at his own pace. With continued training, consistency, and patience, Smokie is sure to thrive. Smokie would make a wonderful companion for an active family looking for a loyal, affectionate dog who enjoys both indoor relaxation and outdoor adventures. His loving nature, playful spirit, and endless kisses are sure to win over anyone lucky enough to meet him.  Date of Birth: 11/11/25; up to date on vaccinations; neutered Contact: Anna Babinat at 319-939-5181
