MOANA — 5 YEARS OLD & READY FOR THE GOOD LIFE! Meet Moana! This beautiful 5-year-old Pit mix supposedly came into the Milwaukee shelter as a stray, but we're starting to question that story a little. You see, Miss Moana clearly knows a thing or two about being a good girl! She knows how to sit, give paw, and sometimes, if she's feeling cooperative, she'll even lay down on command. She rides wonderfully in the car and seems to appreciate the quieter, easygoing side of life. She goes in her kennel at will randomly for naps. ❤️ Kids? Absolutely ADORES them! Dogs? She can coexist with another dog, but she'd prefer one who understands personal space. She's not interested in having some wild puppy bouncing off her head all day. We are hoping that the longer she is here that she will open up to want to play but if not that's okay too! Not all of us has go go energy. Cats? The resident kitty hasn't clocked in for his official introduction yet, so that one's still unknown! But here's the part that gets us. Despite her foster family's encouragement, Moana hasn't quite figured out that she's allowed to enjoy some of the simplest luxuries of being a loved house dog. She'll sit right in front of the couch, staring at it, almost like she's trying to decide if she's allowed up. Instead of climbing on, she'll lower her head and rest it against the couch. And there she'll stay. Her foster family has tried coaxing her up, showing her that she's welcome, but Moana just isn't quite ready to believe that the comfy furniture is hers to enjoy too. We don't know what her life looked like before she found herself at the shelter, and we won't pretend to. But watching her hesitate over something as simple as a couch makes us wish we could tell her just how much she's allowed to enjoy now. Yes, sweet girl. You're allowed on the couch. You're allowed on the bed. You're allowed to be spoiled rotten. ❤️ Moana isn't asking for much. A quieter home, people to love, kids to adore, and maybe one day the confidence to hop up on that couch without a second thought. She's past the crazy puppy stage, has some wonderful manners already, and is ready for a family to show her that the best chapter of her life is just beginning. Apply through Our Pack Animal Rescue!
